As the number of ITAs increases, CRS scores continue to reject. On September 14, 3,250 invitations to apply were issued by the Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) in the latest Express Entry draw, the sixth since all-program draws continued on July 6, Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score was 511, which is the lowest cut off. Also, there was no program specific for the draw, in the sense that invitations were issued to applicants from the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) and the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP).
Express Entry is one of the most well-known ways for Canada to immigrate. The number of applicants obtaining ITAs raise by 250 with every draw, until the most recent draw on August 31. Additionally, the previous week saw a marked rise of 500 ITAs and today’s draw is an extension of that development. There has also been a continuing rejection in the least CRS score, which has lost between eight or nine points in all draws. However, as there was only a five-point reduction, this draw is different. The lowest CRS score in the July 6 draw was 557.
IRCC stopped all-program Express Entry draws for more than 18 months, opening in December 2020. Throughout this time, candidates who qualified for permanent residence below the CEC or the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) only were invited to apply. But, CEC draws were also stopped in September 2021.
Canada Is On Its Way To Welcome Nearly 432,000 Immigrants
Immigration Minister Sean Fraser has just said that Canada will break its present record of 405,330 new immigrants in a year, by the end of 2022. As of the end of June, Canada has previously welcomed more than 300,000 new permanent residents in 2022. Through Express Entry, until now this year Canada has welcomed 40,785 immigrants. It is feasible that if immigration keeps on at its present speed, Canada could even go beyond the 2022 Immigration Levels Plan aim of about 432,000.
IRCC has started processes such as making the application procedure 100% digital as well as hiring an extra 1,250 new staff members to ease these numbers. Canada continues to push for extra immigration as it tries to handle a previously low joblessness rate as well as more than one million work vacancies. The improved amount of retirement more than the next decade, joint with a small birth rate, means Canada is not capable of supporting the employment force or financial system without immigration.
Upcoming Changes In 2023
To improve target gaps in the employment force, IRCC plans to make a main change to Express Entry in 2023. Most particularly, these changes would give the branch the right to issue ITAs to persons with particular job experience, education, or language skill. It could be any applicant from groups they think will be well-positioned to hold up Canada’s financial system and workforce. This will have an impact on the CRS score’s relevance in some instances, and they may become less essential in some upcoming draws.
Express Entry
Express Entry is the application administration system for three Canadian immigration programs: the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) and the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP). Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) applicants in the Express Entry pool are previously qualified for a minimum of one of these programs. To rank candidates’ profiles, a points-based system is used by the Express Entry, the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The top-scoring candidates get an Invitation to Apply (ITA) and also can then apply for permanent residency.
