Through the provincial immigration program, Ontario, and British Columbia have issued invitations to apply (ITA) this week. Also, most of the Canadian regions and provinces (except Quebec and Nunavut) run their own Provincial Nomination Programs. As interested claimants may be invited to apply for a provincial nomination, via these programs. Furthermore, the province administered Quebec’s immigration programs which are separate from Canada’s immigration program.
Since its launch in 1998, the PNP has grown in importance significantly and now accounts for more than 80,000 Permanent Resident admissions each year. Consequently, the number of PNP admissions in Canada has increases as the provincial and federal governments consider it an effective tool to promote the country’s economic development. Though the provincial nomination is not the same as the PR, it will act as the foremost step to getting permanent residence from Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
