Here’s a happy news from Ontario’s Provincial Nomination Program (PNP). Ontario province has announced its first PNP draw of the year by inviting Express Express candidates. The Ontario PNP is one of the immigration programs from the province to invite skilled workers for permanent residence. The Ontario Skilled Trades Stream is a pathway linked with the Federal Skilled Worker Program and Canadian Experience Class of Canada’s Federal Express Entry system. It means the candidates who are eligible for Ontario’s PNP, are eligible for the Federal government’s Express Entry draw. Update:
Ontario invites 1032 immigration express entry candidates for the PNP through the Ontario Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream. The Ontario government expects these candidates to have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) ranging from 381 to 461. This draw targeted the candidates who registered their profiles in the system from January 27, 2021, and January 27, 2022.
So, the candidates who wish to register for this PNP draw should have lived in Ontario with a work permit valid for one year. They should either have work experience full-time or part-time, which is equivalent to full-time for about one year. It is also stated that the occupation they have been working for should have been listed in Canada’s National Occupational Classification (NOC). However, it is not mandatory to have a job offer while applying for the Ontario Skilled Trades Stream but should meet the requirements suggested above.
So, the first step in applying for PNP is to register in the Express Entry profile. The PNP draw gives an additional score to the existing CRS score, which makes the candidates score higher and allows them to apply for permanent residence.
