Update from Canada: In the recent Provincial Nominee Program draw held in Ontario, Masters, and Ph.D. graduates were invited. It is to be noted that this is the first draw after revamping the invitation system for these two categories. Most immigration consultants in Bangalore welcome this move from the authorities since it will give an opportunity for qualified graduates to pursue their careers in Canada.
What are the Master’s Graduate and Ph.D. streams?
These two PNP immigration programs fall under Ontario’s EOI system. To be eligible for consideration, you need to register with the e-filing portal. Later, you must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for any one of your desired graduate streams. You need to apply two years before graduating and do not require any job offer. If eligible, you will get an invitation to apply for the program.
Update of the first PNP draw
In this draw that was held on August 18th, Ontario invited a total of 479 candidates from both streams. The Masters’ stream had the highest invitations of 402. These invitees required a minimum EOI score of 39 to be eligible to receive the invitation. 77 candidates from the Ph.D. stream were invited and they had a score of 17 and above.
