In a recent draw through the province’s Entrepreneur Stream, Ontario immigration has issued 28 Invitations to Apply.
The August 16 draw saw ITAs issued to Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) applicants scoring between 138 and 160 points.
Applicants who submitted an Expression of Interest by August 8, 2022, were qualified for consideration.
Ontario Entrepreneur Stream: Financial Needs
1) Net Worth
The lowest net worth of $800,000 if your planned business will be in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Outside the GTA, the lowest net worth is $400,000.
Planned business in either ICT or digital communications, least net worth is $400,000 anywhere in the province.
2) Investment and Ownership
Invest a minimum of $600,000 in an Ontario business, and have a minimum of 33 per cent if the business is in GTA.
Outside GTA, spend a minimum of $200,000 and own a minimum of 33 per cent.
Planned business in either ICT or digital communications, invest a minimum of $200,000 and own at least 33 per cent anywhere in the province.
Ontario Entrepreneur Stream: Non-Financial Needs
In the past 60 months, a minimum of 24 months of full-time business experience, as an owner or senior manager.
Create two full-time jobs for Canadian citizens or permanent residents in the planned company situated inside the GTA. Businesses located outside the GTA, or in either ICT or digital communications, should create one full-time job.
Make an investigative visit to Ontario 12 months previous to application. Note: This is only suitable for those buying an existing business.
Minimum CLB 4 in English or French.
Physically living in Ontario for a minimum of 75% of the time you are managing the business.
