The most recent PNP draw results from British Columbia, Quebec, Prince Edward Island and Saskatchewan. Three Canadian provinces released their Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw results this last week, and also Quebec conducted a new draw through Arima. Most Canadian provinces and regions (with the exclusion of Nunavut and Quebec) manage their PNPs. Interested applicants may be invited to apply for a provincial nomination through these programs. Though provincial nomination is not similar to a permanent residence, it can work as the initial step to getting permanent resident rank for qualified candidates by increasing your CRS score. For example, PNP candidates with Express Entry profiles who obtain an appointment get extra 600 points to their score. They also become qualified to be invited to apply for a PNP-particular round of invitations.
PNP Draw Results August 19-25
British Columbia
More than 210 candidates were invited to apply for a provincial nomination in British Columbia that is held on August 23. British Columbia regularly holds a provincial nomination draw all week. The most of candidates, 205, were invited to a provincial targeted draw that included tech professions. The invitations were issued to applicants in the Skilled Worker and International Graduates categories and integrated Express Entry candidates. The draw also included Semi-Skilled and Entry Level candidates. The least SIRS score for the aimed provincial draw ranged from 106 for Skilled Workers with Express Entry to 75 for Entry Level and Semi-Skilled applicants. SIRS acts much like the Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) but is no more than used for British Columbia’s PNP.
The territory also held rounds of invitations for applicants working in the following professions.
- Premature childhood professors and assistants (NOC 4214) with scores of at least 60 points; and
- 5 healthcare employees with scores of a minimum of 60 points.
- Healthcare helpers with scores of a minimum of 60 points
Saskatchewan
On August 18, Saskatchewan held two latest draws, 668 candidates were invited with the least scores of 67 and 629 were invited on August 25 with the lowest scores of 65. All applicants were invited through the Express Entry and Occupations-In-Demand categories of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). This will go on Saskatchewan’s new trend of holding PNP draws nearly every week. In July the territory conducted four draws, inviting more than 200 candidates always. Until July, Saskatchewan held draws only every two months.
Prince Edward Island
On August 18, the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) invited 121 immigration applicants. Labour Impact and Express Entry candidates got the most invitations, with full of 117. The remaining four invitations went to Business Impact candidates who had provincial scores of the lowest 97 points. PEI holds on to one draw for all months and releases its programme advance for the year.
Quebec
Quebec has more self-determination over its immigration system than any other province, and so it does not add in the PNP. Those individuals, who desire to immigrate to Quebec, must submit a profile to a provincial expression of interest pool, called Arima. Then the provincial officials invite candidates whose profiles meet the standards for an immigration program. Invited applicants apply for a Certificate Selection Québec (CSQ) in Quebec or a provincial nomination. To apply for a permanent selection under the Quebec Regular Skilled Worker Program (QSWP), the Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration (MIFI) invited 58 candidates on August 9. The applicants should have profiles in the Arima Expression of Interest system with scores, and they had an applicable job offer outer of the Montreal Metropolitan area.
Express Entry and PNP
Express Entry is an application managing system that ranks and evaluates applicants from the Canadian Experience Class, the Federal Skilled Worker Program, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program. Candidates in these programs go through a pool and are ranked next to each other by using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). According to the factors like their work experience, language skill, education, and other individual capital factors, the CRS provides them with a score. Getting a provincial nomination adds additional 600 points to a person’s CRS score and makes it very possible that they will obtain an ITA for permanent residency from IRCC.
