Canada conducted another large draw within 8 days on 24th March 2023. The IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada) issued ITA (Invitations to Apply) to 7,000 applicants in an all-program draw with a least CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) of 484. An all-program draw means aspirants are considered from the 3 different programs as Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP).
As well, the number of candidates invited in this draw ties the previous largest-ever draw that was held on 15th March 2023 and issued 7,000 invitations. Applicants in the previous draw have a least CRS score of 490, and it’s recorded as a high all-program.
Moreover, this draw was surprising as it marks the 2nd following week Canada has issued express entry invitations. Typically, the express entry draw will be conducted every two weeks.
In early 2023, express entry draws targeted largely applicants in the PNP (Provincial Nominee Program). So far this year, there have been only 4 PNP express entry draws, new on 1st March 2023. In this PNP-only draw, IRCC issued 667 invitations to the candidates with a CRS score of 748. Before this draw, there were three other PNP draws, and one draw conducted on 2nd February 2023 focused on Federal Skilled Workers.
Yesterday’s draw was held at 12:27:59 UTC and followed the tie-breaking rule of 19th May, 2022, 06:48:41 UTC. When more than one applicant has the least score, the cut-off score is based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles. Likewise, applicants from FSW, CEC, and FST as well as PNP were qualified for these invitation rounds.
