Canada has conducted the second-biggest express entry draw of all time and issued 7,000 invitations to the candidates with the least CRS score of 490. This score is one point high when compared to the previous all-program draw that was held on 1st February 2023.
This express entry draw beats the previous record of issuing 5,500 invitations to apply for the last all-program draw that was held on 18th January 2023. In this draw, invitations were issued to applicants from the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) as well as the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP).
This latest express entry draw breaks a program-specific draw pattern that has been happening over the past two months. Meanwhile, in the previous all-program draw there have been 4 program-specific rounds of invitations, 3 for PNP-only and 1 for FSWP candidates. The newest draw held on 1st March 2023 was PNP-only, and just 697 applicants received ITAs.
Previous to 2023, all Express Entry draws between July and November 2022 were all-program draws that invited over 1,000 candidates each time and grew as the least CRS score reduced.
Moreover, for the year 2023, Canada has an immigration goal of 465,000.
The recent draw saw a tie-breaking rule executed on 16th February 2023 at 4:03 pm IST.
If more than one applicant has the least score, then the cut-off score is depending on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.
