On October 26th, 2022, Canada has recently released its new express entry 234. Also, 4,750 candidates were invited to apply through all programs and saw a CRS score of 496. Since all program draws resumed on the 6th of July, this is the 9th draw.
Apart from that, since December 2020, this is the first time the CRS score has dropped below 500. The 4,750 invitations were issued to the claimants with a minimum CRS score of 496. As well, the applicants from the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) were all eligible to obtain invitations. All are programs that function under the Express Entry system.
In addition, the Express Entry all-program draws were paused for over 18 months from the beginning of December 2020. Candidates from the CEC or Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) only were issued invitations to apply (ITAs) during this pause. The draws were stopped due to the application backlog caused by COVID-19-related travel limits. In September 2021, IRCC also stopped draws for the CEC.
This draw marks the first time since draws start again that the CRS has dipped under 500. The previous time the score was this low with 468 on December 23, 2020. After that draw, all-program Express Entry draws were stopped to avoid creating a higher permanent residence applications backlog.
Also, IRCC can increase the ITAs’ number it issues by reducing the CRS score. As shown by the previous eight draws in which most applicants increased as the CRS score reduced gradually. Moreover, no programs are specified for the express entry draw.

In The Forthcoming Days, The Immigration Level Plan 2023-2025 Is Expected
Every year, the IRCC releases a new plan that sets a target for the number of immigrants it hopes to welcome in each of the upcoming three years. Furthermore, the numbers are broken down into the immigration class as well as their programs. Through Express Entry, the Immigration Levels Plan aimed at 55,900 new permanent residents for 2022. Up to now, Canada has acknowledged just over 28,000 new permanent residents through Express Entry programs between January and August 31. By November 1st this year, a new Immigration Levels Plan is expected to be announced.
What Is Express Entry Draw?
To manage Canadian PR applications, the government uses a system called express entry. Also, this is a point-based system that helps to rank the claimant’s profile. In addition, the system manages the three major programs CEC, FSWP, and FSTP. The CRS is a point-based system that also ranks the applicant’s profile. Furthermore, the claimants who score the top scores can get an ITA and can apply for the PR.
Time The Next Express Entry Draw Can Be Expected
The next express entry draw can be expected on 9th November 2022. Express Entry draws are held on a bi-weekly basis on Wednesday afternoons according to IRCC.
