Canada used to conduct Citizenship Week every year, which is an opportunity to celebrate new citizens. Also, the IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) Minister Mr. Sean Fraser has announced that the country conducted around 105 citizenship ceremonies over the past week, and invited more than 13,500 new Canadians to all the Canadian provinces. It was approximately double the average of new Canadians welcomed each week all over the year.
He attended citizenship ceremonies that were hosted in Halifax and Vancouver locations, and he invited new Canadians and highlighted Canada’s tradition of supporting helpless people and Canadian citizenship’s role and responsibilities.
Moreover, during these events, IRCC minister Sean Fraser said that he feels honored to be a part of inviting over 13,500 new members to their Canadian families. He also felt like this is one of the best parts of his profession.
Citizenship Week 2023 has offered him the opportunity to reflect on everything that being Canadian means: the freedom to live as the allowed persons, connection to the natural world of the nation, and the prospect to reach their full skill even if they came from anywhere.
